In larger amounts, rye can begin to exhibit even more of its flavor characteristics, but requires special mashing techniques as it can greatly increase the viscosity of your wort as well as create impermeable layers inside the grain bed.
Use in different increments for varying results:
•1-3% Adds dryness and a touch of spicy rye flavor
•5% Rye Pale Ales, Wheat and Smoked Beers
•10-35% Roggenbier or American Rye Beer
